Originally scheduled for 2001, has delayed the publication many times.

Recently someone from an auction house told me that he is in the present groove of giving "oral opinions"
(means nothing, unless you record the conversation, he can change his word, as in the date of publication for his catalogue).

To any question on the CR, the answer is: "will be published this year"
(no idea what that means, it has changed year at least 11 times since it was first scheduled.)

The art world accepts quite well this uncertainty, in any other aspects of life/work it would be taken as a total lost of trust.

(Imagine a broker saying "don't worry, next year you will have benefits" during 11 years, would you still trust him?)

In a recent interview in the art newspaper he said "WE ARE STILL YEARS AWAY" (Nice, now he is covered for at least a few years).

IN RESUME: a total lack of seriousness & Connoisseur's methods and behaviour.

In a recent popular publication, Maryle Secrests "Modigliani," he reported it will be published in 2011, but the year ended and there is no
publication (they usually work together as in the exhibition in Japan, 2008).

Restellini has been giving opinions in publications, exhibits or auction house expert opinions, until we see the catalogue here I include a list of some of the works he plans to include ( I presume he would not publish/exhibit/give an expert's opinion on fakes).

He said in an interview that he will include 400 paintings.but recently changed his word and now there are going to be 70 y 80 new works to add to the 337 in Ceroni ( Not sure, but this means he accepts as valid all the ones in Ceroni???) . so 407 or 417 paintings, WOOOOOW.

He says it will be an "ATOM BOMB" (I´m anxiously waiting to see it blow up...):



Here are 62 NEW or not so new ones he has presented, so only 8 or 18 new ones remain to be seen???

(Which ones of the Ceroni are out??? remember the Mr. Nahmad affaireand Including Count Weilhorski, Marc? - “We’ve seen five fakes painted in the same cramped style,” he explains-).

In 1997, Christie’s asked him to evaluate Beatrice Hastings assise (Ceroni-Nº80). Restellini declared the work a genuine Modigliani that had been badly compromised by extensive overpainting. “It had been transformed by someone else to make it more marketable,” he recalls. “I showed Christie’s the original work’s photograph from the Paul Guillaume archives and said I could never include the painting as it stands today, because to me that is a fake." They auctioned it anyway, for $2.6 million. M. Doyle, Christie’s public-relations manager, says: “While somewhat restored, the painting’s condition was not atypical of works by Modigliani, and therefore the house stands behind Ceroni’s attribution.” LINK >>

NOOOOO, this claim he made to the newspapers gives him another "change of mind". in his last interview he decided to include all Ceroni... It is another "WHO SAID WHAT???" related to Marc's contradictions.
