This investigation records that no good colour reproduction of the painting had been seen.
The Art Institute of Chicago announced in April 1990 that it would deaccession Portrait of Mme Zborowska, 1917, gift of Edwin E. Hokin (inv. 1955.1534), with an estimate of $4–6 million, among eleven works offered that spring. The later Oslo step in this file remains unverified.
Published documentation for this file is thin. Catalogue numbers, exhibitions and bibliography are given only where this investigation recorded them.
The original documentation assembled for this investigation marked several fields as still being checked. The facts above are those already published; where sources disagree, both readings are given.
