Notes
Parisot in the catalogue for the exhibition in Prague (P. 34) present this X-ray as the image visible under the Cariatide Rossa:
This X-ray combined with the painting in Verso and the recto composition are impossible.
1.- The frontal and back composition would be visible at the same image.
2.- The balcony in the frontal painting and the treatment of the background would make impossible to have a previous composition, the blank areas with no painting that left visible the canvas make it absolutely impossible.
In conclusion, the upper X-ray cant be from that painting.
Contact was attempted with the Vernon Gallery in Prague, as organising point for the 2011 exhibition, after the catalogue was seen prior to the opening; no reply is recorded in this investigation.

The painting was seized by the police after a report by C. Pepi. A subsequent technical report signed by Prof. Isabella Quattrocchi described two compositions on the same support, stated that the block-letter signature in a non-geometric bo× was not accepted as authentic, and recorded laboratory findings of polyurethanes, titanium white and other synthetic pigments. That report concluded that the work was not original. The report is cited here only as a published investigative document; this page does not itself issue an attribution.
